초록

이 연구는 재가 및 시설 발달장애인을 대상으로 미래준비 현황을 비교 탐색함으로써 그 함의를 논의하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 발달장애인의 미래준비에 대한 문헌고찰을 기초로 하여 설문지를 개발하고, 재가 및 발달장애인을 대상으로 서베이 하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 발달장애인의 미래준비 영역 중 가장 필요다고 생각하는 부분은 재가 및 시설 발달장애인 모두 “일정한 소득의 유지”로 나타났다. 둘째, 재가 및 시설 발달장애인의 미래준비 수준을 비교한 결과 재가 발달장애인의 미래준비가 시설에 거주하는 발달장애인에 비해 낮은 수준을 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 발달장애인의 재산을 관리하는 서비스에 대한 필요성 인식이 재가 및 시설에서 모두 높게 나타나고 있으며 재가 발달장애인이 더 높은 필요성을 느끼고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 발달장애인의 일반적 특성에 따른 미래준비 수준을 확인한 결과 시설 발달장애인은 일반적 특성에 따른 미래준비 수준에 차이를 보이지 않으나, 재가 발달장애인은 유의한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 기초로, 발달장애인의 보다 실효성 있는 미래준비를 위한 방안을 제언하였다

This study was conducted to examine the preparations that people with developmental disabilities make for their futures in terms of finances, residency, legal interactions, health, education, leisure, daily life, social activities, and human relations and to explore and identify the implications of these preparations by checking and comparing the states in which people with developmental disabilities are living in the community and in facilities. Thus, people with developmental disabilities in the community and facilities were identified, and a survey was conducted. First, the most important and required aspect of the preparation process seemed to be “maintaining a steady income” for both the community and facilities groups. Second, it was found that the community groups were underprepared in relation to the facilities groups when comparing the current preparations of both groups. Third, the recognition that wealth management services for disabled people are required was high in both the community and facilities groups, and it was found that the community groups feel they have a higher need for these services. Fourth, when checking the preparations based on the social property of people with developmental disabilities, it was shown that the facilities groups did not show any significant results, but the community groups had significant results. Based on these results, support systems for people with developmental disabilities preparing for the future and the need for change to the welfare environment were suggested.
