초록

연구는 장애인의 참여가 강조되는 최근 상황에서 발달장애인 당사자가 강사로 참여하는 장애인식개선교육의 효과를 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 초중고학생을 대상으로 발달주기(아동기 및 청소년기)에 따라 교육전후 장애수용성, 장애인식 및 활동선호도의 변화 차이, 교육효과에 영향을 미치는 교육유형을 검증하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 교육 이후 초등학생(아동기)과 중고생(청소년기) 모두 장애수용도가 높아졌으며, 장애인식의 경우 중고생은 긍정적 인식과 부정적 인식 모두 유의한 변화를 보였으나 초등학생은 긍정적 인식만 유의한 변화를 보였다. 활동선호도는 중고등 학생은 모든 영역에서 긍정적 변화가 있었으나 초등학생의 개인생활 변화는 유의하지 않았다. 또한 장애인식개선에 효과적인 교육유형으로는 발달장애인의 참여(당사자 연주, 발표 및 설명 등)가 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 기초로 발달장애인 당사자가 참여하는 장애인식개선교육의 중요성과 확산을 위한 함의를 제시하였다.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of education in which people with developmental disabilities participate as instructors in improving the perception of the disabled. To this end, this study aimed to verify, before and after receiving the education, the differences in disability acceptance, disability awareness and activity preferences. Further, it identified the type of education that influences the educational effect according to the development cycle (childhood and adolescence) for elementary, middle and high school students. The results showed that, after receiving the education, both elementary school students(children) and middle and high school students (adolescents) had increased their disability acceptance. In the case of disability awareness, middle and high school students showed significant changes in both positive and negative perceptions, but only positive perceptions significantly changed in elementary school students. Regarding activity preference, positive changes were found in all areas for middle and high school students, but changes in the personal lives of elementary school students were not significant. In addition, as an effective type of education toward improving the perception of people with disabilities, the participation of persons with developmental disabilities(party performance, presentation, explanation, etc.) was found to have a statistically significant effect. Thus, the importance and implications for the spread of education toward the improvement of people with developmental disabilities are presented.
