초록

본 연구는 부모가 인식하는 발달장애인의 자기결정과 삶의 질 수준을 살펴보고, 부모의 자기결정 기회제공과 교수실행이 발달장애인의 자기결정을 향상시켜 삶의 질을 높이는 영향력과 그 경로를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 성인 발달장애인을 돌보는 부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 구조방정식모델을 활용하여 수집된 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과 발달장애인의 삶의 질은 보통수준 이하였고, 자기결정은 부모와 함께 하는 수준으로 나타났다. 또한 부모의 자기결정 기회제공과 교수실행은 발달장애인의 자기결정을 향상시켰고 이를 통해 삶의 질을 높인다는 경로모형이 적합한 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 발달장애인의 자기결정과 삶의 질 증진에 대한 관심을 촉구하고, 자기결정을 높일 수 있는 부모 개입을 위한 실천적인 방안을 논의하였다.

This study examines the level of self-determination and quality of life of people with developmental disabilities perceived by parents, and examines the effects and paths of parental self-determination opportunities and instructional practices to improve the quality of life of people with developmental disabilities by improving self-determination. To this end, a questionnaire survey was conducted on parents caring for adults with developmental disabilities, and the collected data were analyzed using a structural equation model. As a result of the study, the quality of life of people with developmental disabilities was below the average level, and self-determination was found to be at the level with parents. In addition, it was confirmed that parental self-determination opportunities and instructional practices improved the self-determination of persons with developmental disabilities, and enhanced self-determination improved the quality of life. Based on these research results, we urged interest in self-determination and quality of life for people with developmental disabilities, and discussed practical measures for parental intervention that can enhance self-determination.
